The "Golden Four Corners" of natural fibers
cotton
Features: Moisture absorption rate up to 8.5% (three times that of chemical fibers), suitable for close-fitting clothes in spring and summer.
Avoid the pitfall: Blended fabrics containing the words "polyester-cotton" are prone to pilling. It is recommended to choose pure cotton with a purity of over 95%.
Scene: Preferred for baby clothes and home wear, friendly to sensitive skin.
hemp
Advantages: Natural antibacterial rate of 92% (anti-Escherichia coli), perceived temperature drop of 3℃.
Limitation: When the flax content is less than 50%, it is prone to deformation. Choosing a semi-fine spinning process can reduce the wrinkle degree by 40%.
Scene: A commuting shirt and wide-leg pants, paired with a spray bottle to spray water, can naturally smooth out the wrinkles.
silk
Value: 18μm ultrafine fiber (1/3 the thickness of a human hair), with twice the breathability of ordinary silk.
Maintenance: Hand wash with neutral detergent. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent brittleness.
Wool
Innovation: Merino wool (under 18.5μm) UPF20+ sun protection, no stuffiness when worn at 30℃.
Misconception: Winter does not equal thick wool; ultra-fine wool sweaters can be worn in summer.
Three major Misconceptions about natural fibers
❌ "Pure cotton does not pill" : Cotton fibers are prone to breakage and pilling when rubbed. Anti-pilling treatment only alleviates the problem but does not cure it completely.
❌ "linen pleats = cheap" : The slightly wrinkled texture has become a symbol of relaxation aesthetics, frequently used by LV and Loewe.
❌ "silk is not washable" : Correct hand washing can extend its lifespan. Avoid machine washing and friction with rough objects.
